You are eligible for social security benefits if you accumulated at least 40 credits - mainly 10 years working under social security system.
If you were born in 1958 your full retirement age is 66 and 8 months
If you start receiving benefits at age 66 and 8 months you get 100 percent of your monthly benefit.
You can start your Social Security retirement benefits as early as age 62, but the benefit amount you receive will be less than your full retirement benefit amount.
Specifically - if you start at age 62 - you will only get 71.7% of your benefits.

If you are eligible for a pension based on work you did and you did not pay Social Security taxes, this pension can affect the amount of your Social Security benefits. This reduction is referred to as the Windfall Elimination Provision, or WEP.
If you paid Social Security taxes on 30 years of substantial earnings, WEP does not apply to you.
