I Thought that I had to apply for Medicare when I turned 65.
I Thought that I had to apply for Medicare when I turned 65 . I applied thru SS for medicare and have recieved my medicare card. I do not want to start receiving SS until I'm 66 - next year - in order to recieve full benefits. I am retiring from the NC State Retirement Plan beginning November 1st. I just spoke with a representative there who encourages me to add Medicare Part B to coverage. I'm now under the impression that I've signed up to begin SS next month - Is this true?
