I Thought that I had to apply for Medicare when I turned 65 . I applied thru SS for medicare and have recieved my medicare card. I do not want to start receiving SS until I'm 66 - next year - in order to recieve full benefits. I am retiring from the NC State Retirement Plan beginning November 1st.
