Hi. …. My name’s Lane,

I hold a law degree (J.D.), with concentration in Tax Law, Estate law & Corporate law, an MBA in finance, a BBA, and CFP & CRPS (Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist) designations, as well - I’ve been providing financial, Social Security/Medicare, estate, corporate, non-profit, and tax advice, to clients on three continents, since 1986.

I’m reading your question now.

Bear with me a moment while I type up my response.

….

Then if you have further questions we can go from there

Ask Your Own Social Security Question

You can legally opt out of Social Security on religious grounds—but you need valid reasons. Use (4361 Form) and state your specific biblical grounds for opting out.

...

Just remember that this only applies to the income you receive as part of your vocational ministry. That includes your full-time ministry salary and any extra self-employment income you receive through your ministerial duties, such as honorariums for a wedding or a funeral.

...

But keep in mind that if you’re bi-vocational, you’ll still have to pay into Social Security on your secular income.

Ask Your Own Social Security Question

Please let me know if you have ANY questions at all, before rating me.

If this has helped, and you DON’T have other questions … I'd appreciate a positive rating (using the stars on your screen, and then clicking “submit")

That’s the only way JustAnswer.com will credit me for the work.

...

I hope you’ll rate me based on accuracy and thoroughness, rather than any good news / bad news content

But again, let me know if you need more here,

Lane

it doesn't matter that I am actually receiving Social Security benefits that I am basically saying I don't agree with the SS system? How do I file this form?

Of course it does. But I wouldn't call it a matter of agreement.

...

Here's what you're certifying:

...

“I am conscientiously opposed to, or because of my religious principles I am opposed to the acceptance (for services I perform as a minister…) of any public insurance that makes payments in the event of death disability, old age, or retirement; or that makes payments toward the cost of, or provides services for, medical care.”

Hi Lane. Still following up on the SS exemption question—I a 501(c)3 church automatically exempt from SS withholding for it's employees or does each individual employee need to opt in or out? Is there a way the church itself needs to opt out, in general?

This is a different question. Please ask as a separate question ... I am only paid when you rate positively (which, on this one was only a three-star rating), AND only compensated with a portion of whatever you paid JustAnswer once per question.

...

So every time I come back to this same question thread to answer a new question, it lowers my crediting per time/effort.

...

I hope you'll understand.

...

You may ask for me by saying "For Lane only," at the beginning of a new question OR making me a preferred expert on your Answers page.

Wow. Sorry it only registered 3 star. Should have been 5. My apologies. I will re-submit "for Lane only". I'm still trying to figure out how to make you my preferred expert. I'll get it. By the way, I always intended this to be a "new question", just didn't know how to do it elegantly.

COMPLETELY understand ... many have the same issue at first.

...

I'll be watching for the question

..

I appreciate ...
