Welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist you.

Yes. You can apply for survivor benefits at age 60.

BUT

If you’re younger than full retirement age during all of 2018, Social Security will deduct $1 from your benefits for each $2 you earn above $17,040. Full retirement age is 66.

In order to apply for survivor benefits, you must visit your local Social Security office. You cannot apply online or by phone.

The following links contain excellent information you will find helpful:

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you and best regards,

Barb
