Customer Question
Since social security is...

Since social security is my only income, due I have to pay federal taxes?

Accountant's Assistant: The Retirement Accountant will know how to help. Please tell me more, so we can help you best.

2017 is my first year with no additional income. When I filed my taxes, my tax person said that I will get all of my federal taxes back because I had no income other than ss. I have no interest income and own my home.

Accountant's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Retirement Accountant should know?

I am a widow but draw off my ss account.

Hello,

If 1/2 of your social security (plus all other income) is less than $25,000, no Federal Tax return is required.

You may also wish to check into real estate property tax relief in your area.

Thank you,
