If social security benefits is your ONLY income - none of that amount is taxable - and you are not required to file your tax return - and have zero tax liability.

If however you have other income - your social security benefits may be partly taxable.

Please let me know and I will help you with determination.

Please clarify

- you are single - correct?

- above 65 ?

- your income is from

-- Social Security benefits 21,544.80

-- pension 1540

-- wages 10,923.60

Is that correct? I will run estimations.

Based on that information - you are required to file.

But your estimated tax liability is only $51,

So if you have larger withholding - you might be getting a refund.

Still filing is required.

Let me know if you need any clarification this matter.
