If I retired at age 62 , am I still entitled to half of my husbands social security patent now. He is 84 and I am 80?

I retired and started collecting social security at age 62. Now our advisor thinks I am still entitled to half my husbands social security he is currently getting. Is this true?

That is true - you may receive social security benefits based on your own work record OR based on your husband's work record - whatever is larger.

HOWEVER - because you started your benefits at age 62 - below your FRA - full retirement age - that will not be 50% of his benefits - your spousal benefits will be reduced the same way as your own benefits.
