Why am I being enrolled in Medicare Part when I am still…

Customer Question
Why am I being...

Why am I being enrolled in Medicare Part B when I am still employed and have coverage from my employer? I work for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and I am covered by the State health Plan.

Accountant's Assistant: These retirement benefits are supposed to help us but they can be so complicated! The Retirement Expert will help you get the most benefits propertly. Please tell me more, so we can help you best.

I received a letter from SS telling me that I am enrolled in medicare B, but I was told that if I am employed and can skip Part B until when I quit working. The letter stated that they will start taking premiums from my benefit beginning in December. How can I stop this premium?

Accountant's Assistant: Is there anything else the Retirement Accountant should be aware of?

Yes, I am not ready for Part B since I am already covered by my employer.
