HI, MY NAME’S LANE - I hold a law degree (J.D.), with concentration in Tax Law, Estate law & Corporate law, an MBA in finance, a BBA, and CFP & CRPS (Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist) designations, as well - I’ve been providing financial, Social Security/Medicare, estate, corporate, non-profit, and tax advice 1986.

...

Please don't shoot the messenger here, but yes ANYONE working in a job that doesn't have its own non-SSA covered pension (such as a state teachers retirement system) pays into Social Security if they work.

...

It might help to understand that Social Security is a form of social insurance. There is no direct relationship between its premium (FICA) and the benefit we get (which is based on your highest 35 years of earnings - much like a classig defined benefit pension plan.

If this has helped, and you DON’T have other questions … I'd appreciate a positive rating, using the stars or faces on your screen, and then clicking “submit" – You may need to scroll up to see the stars.

...

(Otherwise I'm working for nothing here)

...

But if you need more on this, please let me know.
