Hello my name is ***** ***** I will be able to assist you today.

If you become entitled to Social Security benefits your ex spouse may qualify for Social Securtiy benefits based off of your work history. If your ex spouse does receive Social Security benefits based off of your record, your benefits are not affected.

Your ex spouse still needs to qualify by meeting all the criteria such as being married for ten years to you, not remarried before the age of 60 and the spouse must be at least 62

Alimony payments are separate from your social security benefits and the payment structure would be spelled out in the divorce decree.
