Hi - I'm so sorry, but only Social Security can answer that question. And actually, as what they have are annual figures, not sure they have that at all.

...

What they (and I) CAN tell you is what the social security wage base was for the year, so if you look at your social security earnings statement you can subtract the wage base (that amount on which earnings OVER that aren't taxed)

...

you can see from this 2005 SSA fact sheet: https://www.ssa.gov/legislation/2005FactSheet.pdf that the wage base was 90,000.

...

And, that the amount paid in for an employee earning that much or more would have been $5,580.00 (twice that for a self-employed, as they pay both the employee and employer halves of Social Security)

...

Also, (may be stating the obvious) there IS no limit to the Medicare deduction.

SO, as an example, if your earnings were level each month, and you earned 180,000, the social security tax deductions stopped on June 30th.

...

Please let me know if you have ANY questions at all, before rating me.

If this has helped, and you DON’T have other questions … I'd appreciate a positive rating (using the stars or faces on your screen, and then clicking “submit")

I hope that you’ll rate me based on my accuracy and thoroughness, rather than any good news/bad news content.

That’s the only way JustAnswer.com will compensate me for the work here.

Thanks,

Lane
