Hi. My name's Lane. I can help you with this.

...

If i understand your question, any appeal, cancellation of appeal, or any OTHER issue involving an appeal, will NOT affect your Social Security RETIREMENT benefits at all.

...

The only possibility would be if the appeal has to do with your work record (how long you worked, your average earnings, etc).

SSDI is basewd on two things; (1) your having enough years (quarters), at the right times, in the system to be insured, and (2) your actual disability.

...

Most disabilty appeals have to do with number (2)

...

You Social Security Retirement benefit has ONLY to do with your having enough quarters in the system to get a retirement benefit (and of course, being old enough to collec t a retirement benefit)

...

. … Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

...

If this HAS helped, and you DON’T have other questions … I'd appreciate a positive rating (using the stars or faces on your screen, and then clicking “submit")

Otherwise I’m working for no crediting at all here

...

Thank you!

Lane
