Hi. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to help you.

If you apply for any type of social security benefits before your full retirement age, you will permanently reduce your own but also any other benefits available to you now or in the future. Also, if you apply before your full retirement age, you will not have a choice, you will automatically receive the highest benefits available, spousal or your own.

Applying for spousal benefits will not affects hers but will affect yours. Spousal benefits are your benefits based on your spouse's records, it is not your spouse's benefits.
