That actually will be a "part of YOUR benefits" - as your own benefits are NOT affected.

However - if you were married at least ten years - your ex-spouse would be eligible for spousal social security benefits based on your working record.

But if your spouse is also eligible for his/her own benefits - the SSA will generally pay the larger - but not both benefits at the same time.
