Customer Question

I am 67, was not taking retirement benefits and just did the file & suspend action on-line. My wife (64 yo) of 33 plus years has what options before April 30?

If you filed and suspended your benefits - your spouse became eligible for spousal benefits based on your working record - that is regardless if you suspended your benefits. She may start benefits NOW - before Apr 30 - and later when she will reach her full retirement age will be eligible to file a restricted application - to receive ONLY spousal benefits - that will allow her benefits to grow till age 70.
