Customer Question

I applied for a hearing about 6 weeks ago and never received a confirmation. I said that I depend on both my husband's and my social security checks for every day living expenses.
Together we receive $1461. We now receive $38 less because they increased our medicare payment and lowered our social security payment. We cannot afford to receive any more lower social security payment checks.
I sent my request for a hearing on a social security form from the National Social Security office and they also sent me an addressed envelope to our local Social Security office. I do not know why I did not receive a confirmation. I do know that we only have until April 30th to take care of this!

Do you mean you Appealed a medicare increase?

Also, can you tell me, what was your income in 2014 vs. 2013? Was it much larger for year, perhaps due to selling a home, cashing in a pension, etc?
