I am wondering how much social security my husband got

Customer Question

I am wondering how much social security my husband got before he died in 2002 (I forgot or maybe never did know), and also if I am getting the spousal or survivor amount

Am also wondering if my medicare costs can be cut in half as I have read in some of the "booklets"?

For the first part of your question, you'd have to look at your old tax returns that will include his 1099 for that year, 2002 or even 2001. The 2001 SS income would be divided by 12 for the monthly amount.

With regard to your second question, please answer: How old were you when you started collecting a social security benefit?
