Customer Question

Thank you for your question. You cannot get a disability benefit off a spouse or former spouse -- but once you are as young as 62, you can receive a spousal benefit off your ex spouse. The caveat is that you cannot be married to someone else. If so, the marriage had to start after your 60th birthday or you are ineligible until you are divorced or your subsequent spouse dies.
