I have not received my Social Security Deposit to my bank

Customer Question

I have not received my Social Security Deposit to my bank account. Why would this happen? I am 81 years old, and have not filed returns for 2012,2013,2014. I am the ultimate procrastinator, and embarrassed to admit not filing. I know that there are penalties. I am concerned this tardiness has stopped my Social Security Distribution.

Your tax returns or lack thereof have nothing to do with why you have not received your Social Security payments. Social Security Administration is not charged with enforcement of the tax laws and thus does not have the power to stop your benefits because of non-filing of your returns.
