My social security mailing address has changed but my bank

Customer Question

My social security mailing address has changed but my bank account automatic deposit for my social security check has not changed. How do I notify social security for changing my mailing address but leave my bank deposit the same? I just realized that I did not receive my notification for my social security for 2016 nor did I receive my SSA - 1099 Social Security Benefit statement for 2015 for my tax filing. How do I get these forms at my new mailing address?

HI,

You can make this change online. Go to ssa.gov/myaccount and create your passworded account. From there, you can change your address with the SSA. You can also order that missing 1099, a Benefits letter, etc.
