Up until January 2016 my annual SS check was $2,138, in January 2016 my SS Check was $1,873.20, a reduction of $264.80. Why was there a reduction of my benwefits?

There might be several reasons - I just will mention some possibilities.

- an increase in income can result in higher Medicare Part B premiums 2 years after that year

- premiums for Medicare Part D (drugs plan) are also based on income and may rise.
