I have applied for SS Survivor under my husband, I am 63 years old. I am sorry for your loss. OK, you likely know that by taking survivor benefits before full retirement age will permanently reduce those benefits to something less than 100%.
I recently also got laid off my job & have applied for Unemployment in California. So sorry.
Will my SS benefits reduce the amount of my Unemployment benefit? If so, would it be wise to stop the SS before it begins? California got rid of offsets, so it shouldn't be effected. But remember that working income CAN effect SS benefits if you earn over the annual earnings limit and are under full retirement age.
