With key on, do not start the tractor, turn on pto switch, does the magnet click under the engine? If not, examine the wire harness to the electric clutch under the engine or being loose or damaged. Do you have a voltmeter to check for voltage to the clutch?

I can get a volt meter... how do I go about checking...

!! It clicks, sp clutch is good. so is the drive belt for the deck not broken and on all the pulleys?

All belts are on the pullys, etc...
With the clutch clicking, it should be engaging the blades.?? With engine off, and pto switch on, can you move the drive pulley on the electric clutch? It should lock, and drive the blades.

One thing that I noticed is that my battery is drained... could that be related?
!! that is the problem, the clutch requires a full 12 volts, with low battery it will not fully engage and drop out.

Would the clutch somehow drain the battery when the engine is off and sitting over night
Not unless the key was on and pto was on. How old is the battery?

I am not sure of the age of the battery.... but, I am sure that it due to be replaced.... I was just surprised the yesterday when the tractor would not start... I put a charger on it and then it did... Could there be an issue with the alternator not charging the battery when the tractor is running/
Yes, the charging system may not be charging, but if the battery is over four years old, it needs to be replaced and then the charging system can be tested.
