This answer was rated:

Motor oil coming out the air cleaner dripping down onto the mower housing and soaking the filter. Mod#TB230. No fuel noted. Not over full on the dipstick. Not running bad or smoking.
JA: What's the make and model of the mower? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Troybuilt TB230 165cc front wheel drive. Six hours use (new)
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: That depends as it is under warrenty.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Your guess is as good as mine but it may have something to do with the crank case vent if there is such an item.
You are on the right track, as this is normally caused by a bad crank case breather valve.
This is connected to the carb through a hose on the back of the housing
