Small Engine Troubleshooting Problems? Ask a Mechanic Now.
Hello. Thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is***** will be happy to assist you.
Do you have a 12 volt test light or a multimeter?
Although your fuse appear to be ok, I would still check it with a meter.
I am back with you. I have been away from my computer. Sorry for the delay.
I will work with you until your mower is up and running again.
I would like to confirm something. Will your engine spin after you turn your key to start position? We can continue from here.
Thank for this follow up.
Can you get the model numbers for your mower? These numbers are under your seat.
If I can locate a wiring diagram, I will see if I can trace your wires for you. I need your model and serial numbers.
I will be here until 10:00 pm central time tonight.
I will return tomorrow at 4:30 pm central time.
I am back with you. Can you double check the numbers above? They are not working for me.
Thanks! The numbers worked this time. I pulled up a diagram of your mower, but it did not include a wiring schematic. I will continue to check.
I am unable to locate a wiring schematic. If you like, I can opt out and give another experts an opportunity to assist you. One of them may have a wiring schematic.
There is only one charge for your question. After I opt out, the new expert will see everything that you and I have already covered. I do hope all goes well for you. Thank you again for allowing me to work with you. Have a great day!
I assume the mower starts, so the ignition fuse is good. I see no other fuses. Go back and unplug the new light harness, and check back, looking for a burned wire. The wire has likley burned the insulation off it and is in two . Can be anywhere under dash or behind engine, but there is no voltage to the affected items. May be at the pto switch, or light switch.
You have a burned wire in the power side of the circuit. If yu can't see a hot spot, you may have to open the harness to find it.
You didn't lose the ground wire?
Do you have battery voltage to the pto switch? trace red wire back, to see where voltage is lost. Should be coming from keyswitch! Find power source for pto switch and the others will be same problem.
