Pearl. I have a 2010 Polaris Ranger 800 EFI with a "check

Customer Question

Hello, Pearl. I have a 2010 Polaris Ranger 800 EFI with a "check engine" light. It suddenly started sputtering and I don't know how to display the error code. Can you help me?
JA: Do you have fuel in the tank? If so, is the shut-off valve open and the fuel clean?
Customer: Yes, I have fuel and I'm very sensitive to buying clean fuel. The engine runs but has a very rich gasoline smell.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I would like to.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I do most of my mechanic work myself but haven't worked on the Ranger yet. I have taken it to a certified mechanic in the past...since it was new in 2010.

Hello

you can read the code off yourself as follows:

Turn the key off for 30 seconds. Do the following within 5 seconds: Key ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON (don't start the engine). Keep your eye on the Check Engine Light (CEL).

The display will either say "Wait" and then the CEL will start blinking; or the CEL will start blinking right away. In either case, count the number of blinks between each long pause

for example

blink Pause blinkblink = 12

P bbbb P b = 41

P bbbbbb P b = 61

The codes are in two-digit numbers so the previous sequence would be 12, 41, 61. 12 = start and 61 = end. 12 may or may not happen.

This is a general list of codes. Different models and years may have slight variations.
