I have a Powermate 5000 with a 10 hp Briggs & Stratton

Customer Question

I have a Powermate 5000 with a 10 hp Briggs & Stratton engine (circa 2004) and the ouput voltage is about 138 volts ac. I can find no way to reduce the running speed of the engine to reduce the voltage. Is there another way?
JA: Can you guesstimate how old the engine is? And has it done anything like this in the past?
Customer: The engine is a model 19G412 B & S type 1180 E2. Generator was bought in 2004
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes if I can.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Is motor speed the only adjustment for voltage?
