i have gas to the carb. will not run,, i can spray carb cleaner in to the top of the carb and it will run

Carburetor float and needle valve are stuck or gummed up. Need to remove the carburetor bowl, and clan te float and needle valve passage and the center main jet. Do you have an engine model number , so I could find your carburetor? Here is a typical Briggs.
