I have a craftsman garage opener. If the electricity is out

Customer Question

I have a craftsman garage opener. If the electricity is out when I need to open the garage door, then the open will not work after that. I had someone fix it for me once, but not it has happened again. I would like to learn how to fix it myself. Can you direct to some instructions on how to fix it?
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: Well, I have had a couple people look at it, but they haven't been able to fix it. It seems to be something to do with the chain not connecting to the opener.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: If possible, I have been opening it manually for a few month now. I have about 2 feet of snow right now and it be more convenient if the opener worked so I don't have to get out in the snow to open it.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Do all Craftsman garage door openers work pretty much the same or do I need to try to find the model number. If I try to use the opener, the chain moves, but it does not open.

That doesn't answer my question at all. I told you I have been opening the door manually for a few months. I need to know how to reconnect it, so it will work with the opener. Did you even read my information?
