Hello, does the friction disc touch the drive disc when cable is squeezed?

Chain and gear moving. I also replaced bushings on axle on both sides.

Did you re install the keys when wheels were put back on?

Does the wheel axle turn and not the wheels?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Keys in. When I rotate left wheel by hand, gear and chain and wheels and axle move. When I engage friction drive via handle, gear and chain stop but wheels and axle continue to rotate.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
With engine running, when I engage friction disc by the handle , the chain and gear rotate, but the wheels and axle remain stationary

Do you have manuals? Is the speed sector adjusted properly?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I have the manual that came with the machine. I just checked the speed selector and it looks to be adjusted properly.
Expert:  Vince O. replied 8 months ago.

I have a service manual I'll send you that might have some additional info in it. Not being there to see makes it more difficult to diagnose.!AqvmPfzg3ifPl0qR_75U99KN6RPb

I have been playing around with the speed selector adjustment and was able to get it to move a couple of inches, but then it stopped. No matter where I adjust to, that is all that seems to happen.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I have the owner/operator manual. The trouble shooting chart suggests replace friction disc - done, replace traction drive belt - done, adjust speed selector - done. When I click on the link above, I just get the section of the troubleshooting guide as just described. So looks like I have come to a dead end if you don't have any additional ideas.

Is there any additional info in the service manual I sent?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
No, unfortunately the service manual didn't provide any additional information that provided any help.
Expert:  Vince O. replied 8 months ago.

Sorry I can't do more. I will opt out.

Did you have a good look at the hex shaft the friction disc carrier rides on? The hex part could be worn or rounded or the splines the small sprocket sits on

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
When you replied you would out out on 11/25, I have up too and took machine to repair shop. But, yes, hex shaft and gear were ok
