I have a Husqvarna tractor,, YTH20K46. It starts

Customer Question

I have a Husqvarna tractor,, YTH20K46. It starts intermittently. Let's say it starts and is shut off again after several minutes. Then it won't start and won't even crank. If i let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes it will start again. Flooding doesn't seem to be the issue. Could it need a new starter?

Do you have a voltmeter to check the battery voltage? If voltage drops below 12 volts when running, the fuel solenoid will kill the engine.

Don't have a meter. Should I replace solenoid?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 9 months ago.

No. I would have battery tested, and clean and check the cable terminals.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
If it were the battery wouldn't it just never start?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 9 months ago.

It might start, but low battery affects start and the fuel to cylinders.
