Hello, I have Generac 18 KW Model #(###) ###-#### LP ( years old) The Last few year have been hard starting , But Runs Great when it starts , Now i Have tow Put my hand Over carb/holes and it start right away . I live out in the Mountains and an having no luck find a service tech to come out or even talk with me, Can you Help me Thanks ***** 10/22/16
JA: Do you have fuel in the tank? If so, is the shut-off valve open and the fuel clean?
Customer: Yes Its a 250 gal LP tank, New spark plugs /air filter/oil, Check for water in lp line and bleed line. no signs of water..Hand over choke starts right up, no hand over choke go thru over crank and shuts down
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes I can not locate any service tech to come out
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just know if i put Hand over two carb holes it starts up fast, and runs great no missing works great when runs

What you are describing sounds like a stiff diaphragm in the regulator.

The first thing that needs to be done is to have the fuel system tested.

Unfortunately, unless you have had gaseous fuel training, and have the proper equipment, this is not something you can do yourself.
