I have a 28 inch Snapper rear engine riding mower and it is really hard to put it in reverse,and the disc looks like new. Is there an adjustment?

Sorry Vince I haven't tried the manual yet,I cut my fingers on a table saw and it will be a while before I can work on the mower "but" I will and I will get back to you.Thanks Wes
