I have a Onan 7000 gas generator in my 1995 Fleetwood bounder. I recently changed the brushes Because it would start but it would die as soon as I let off the start button.. now I replace the brushes but lost track of the two wires going to the brushes not sure which wire goes to which brush . I want to try to start it and see if that may have been the problem ..I need to figure out what the cause of this issue is ..

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am going to assist you with this.

What is the model number of the genset?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Oman Marquis 7000 Model # 7NHFA26106D

You missed a letter in the model number - there should be an "M" in there, between the "H" and "F".

On this unit, the brush wire marked F1 or F+ will go to the right hand brush.

The brush wire marked F2 or F- will go to the left hand brush.

Connected the brushes and same thing..How can I test to see if my gen is producing power ?

Connect a voltmeter to the back side of the circuit breakers, and test the voltage while holding the start switch to keep the unit running for a few seconds.
