I have a 15000 watt generac generator it runs then dies

I have a 15000 watt generac generator it runs then dies changed the carb still does the same thing took the ground wire off the coil runs but don't put out any power
JA: What's the make and model of the generator? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Make is a generac not sure on how old it is
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes I am a small engine mechanic
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just puzzled with it Was running and putting out power fine then just quit it maybe has 20hr on it

If it will run with the coil ground off, the coil needs replaced. Sorry, I was on mobile and didn't see that part.

Would that cause it not to put out power

yes, that is the ground. Try to ground that wire to the frame instead and see if it will produce power this way. I am unsure if it will or not, but worth a try for sure

The wire comes from the box were all the breakers are it goes to a plastic connection on the side of the cover then the coils wires hook to that if I take that wire off it runs but the automatic govner won't idle down it runs wide open

Have you tried grounding it to the frame and seeing if it runs normal? I a not a GEN SET Expert, but want to try and help when I can as I am originally from Florida and know what everyone is going through right now

I do not know about the electrical issues of Generators. I can OPT OUT and see if someone else can possibly help you from here. I dod not want to give you wrong info
