Customer Question

I have a Generac 10000 EXL.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: for about a week
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: The engine runs great just doesn't have any power output. I took the wires off the 2 spade connectors and hooked the to 12 volt power source. and tested the 2 brown leads coming out of the board that mounts on the front of the cover of the generator. the result was 125 vdc. Is that normal? and what does that tell me?
JA: What's the make and model of the generator? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: don't know how hold it is but im guessing pretty old. It's a Generac 10000 EXL model #9801-4

That might be the model number. I'm not at the unit

This is a 2-board unit, and takes a while to test.

I am going to opt out of this.
