When it will not start, have you checked for spark and fuel? You can take a spare spark plug, and attach it to a spark plug wire, and with it grounded to the metal of the engine. crank and look for spark. If it has spark we have to assume it has lost fuel.

The carburetor has an electric solenoid in the base of it. This solenoid has to open the main jet as son as the key is turned on. and has to have 12 volts to retract. To test, turn key on and off, and listen for the cick when engine is cold. Then when engine will not start, flip key on and off, listening for the click. No click, no fuel.
