Parked rider lx425 went back 2 days later cranked started

parked rider lx425 went back 2 days later cranked started briefly died before rpm caught up 3 to 4 times then started a clicking noise from underneath area,charged up battery,battery good still clicking noise then noticed would not go into neutral,pulled cover and checked starter,pulled off and reinstalled turned motor over easy by hand still no neutal and still clicking when turning key to start

Rapid clicking when key is turned to start? The starter solenoid and battery are below the seat. Is this where the clicking is coming from? If it is, the battery is dead, or the cables are bad. Rapid clicking from th solenoid is sign of low voltage.

do you have voltmeter to test voltages? What does battery read?
