I have a LTX1040 cub cadet had problems with it clicking

Customer Question

I have a LTX1040 cub cadet had problems with it clicking once and wouldn't turn over at all just click..with a little hummmmm when turning the key. Before this I replaced the starter...selinoid and I have a ground problem it. It didn't have a retainer clip for the ground side of the selinoid...put the ground wire directly to the body between the selinoid without a retainer clip.... I'm at wit's end...before this is over I'll have new parts every where. Virginia

If it will click once and nothing after, you have a loose wire connection

humming sound is ater the click...

Not sure what the humming noise could be as the only things operated when turning key is power to solenoid and then to starter. Only part that I would think could make a humming noise would be the starter if it was not engagingthe flywheel and just spinning. You have got me baffled as well, as I have never heard a mower produce a humming sound when start was attempted.
