Generac 8000e GP unit. The electric start switch does not

Customer Question

Generac 8000e GP unit. The electric start switch does not crank the engine. Starts on first pull with recoil starter, no problem. Replaced battery. Still nothing. Placing the switch in "run" position to start with recoil - no problem at all. Is there a fuse I can check?

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am going to assist you with this.

No, there is no fuse in the starting system of this genset. The only fuse is for the battery charge system.

Still looking for direction on what I can do to correct the problem with the switch. What else can I check? All battery connections are tight. No corrosion anywhere.

Make sure you have power getting to the switch, and that the switch is actually working.
