Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am going to assist you with this.

What is the full model number of the genset?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
4bgefa26 the remainder of the numbers are worn off. it is a gas generator 4000 watt onan.
Expert:  Hank F. replied 1 year ago.

I need the rest of the model number - especially the letter at the end.

Your model number will be 4BGE-FA/26100 and then a single letter.

There are 19 different variations of the BGE units, and 3 different types of ignition systems were used.

I need that letter to know which ignition system you have.

Even though it is faded, you can still read it.

Get a strong flashlight, and hold the light at an angle to the data label, while looking from a different angle.

You will be able to see the "shadow" of where the letter was.

That is so close - but I need that letter after the "26100".

I have no idea what the Z6 is.

Sorry but that is all that there is . I have tried all that you have suggested. What now.

Look on top of your genset, right in the middle between the engine and generator.

Do you see a small metal box, about the size of a cigarette pack, standing on its side?

It may have a wire bail holding it down, or a single screw in the middle.
