Customer Question

I have an onan 3.6 propane generator in my motor home. It is a 1999. It takes several attempts to get it started, it has always eventually started, but it is a pain and can not believe it is good for the starter. It acts like it is not getting fuel in the beginning. After it starts it has always stayed running. What could be causing this?

This can be caused by many things:

Incorrect fuel pressure getting to the genset

Bad diaphragm in the demand regulator

Misadusted mixer

Spark plug wrong type, incorrectly gapped, or wrong plug

Debris in regulator vent line

Valves misadjusted
