Do you have the actual engine model number? P216, M43? Is this engine electronic ignition or does it have points?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Is the coil round or a squarish shape? Round coil will have points, square coil is later, electronic engine. Does your engine have an oil pressure switch that would kill the spark if oil was low?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the coil is round with 2 small posts and 2 large openings for plug wires I have not noticed a oil pressure switbh this is on a ferris 3 wheel mower
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
this may be a 220as it is in the sr.# ***** the mower

I would think this is a points engine. Located under cover, on top of engine. See link below.
