Twin cylinder engine. Does it have the Kohler Oil Guard on the engine? That would kill the spark if oil switch closed. How long after it quits, will it restart?
When it dies, have you checked for spark? Take a spare spark plug, and as soon as it quits, take the spare plug and and attach it to one of the spark plug wires, and with the spark lug grounded, see if it has spark. If it has spark, likley you have electric fuel solenoid in the carburetor shutting off the fuel supply.
# ***** in the above diagram.
No, did you see my link?
It has to loose spark or fuel. I would remove the solenoid, and remove the inner parts, and re-install it to see if engine runs. Then I may just leave it like that!
This solenoid is on the side of the carburetor! Not the starter solenoid!
Take a plier and rip it out! Re-install and do not hook up the wire, it will now just be a plug.
Check the fuel supply to the carburetor, tank line may be restricted or the fuel pump may not be delivering the fuel.
Make a test fuel line from the fuel pump inlet, back into the fuel tank filler opening and run from test, with tank and outlet hose bypassed.
Let's see what that does!
I see question is still open, did you get to run test?
Has fuel and spark, but it won't start! The tank is venting if you ran test line into the tank opening, makes no sense! If it was an engine with solid valve lifters, valves could be too tight, but this engine has hydraulic lifters and need no adjustment. I'm at a loss, I can opt out and see if anyone can add anything. Sorry.
