Have 11:00 Premier DR with a Briggs & Stratton Engine 249cc.

Have 11*****Chipper with a Briggs & Stratton Engine 249cc. I just changed the filters and sparkplug, yearly maintenance. Motor was running before service but idling rough. Now she 2won't start. pull chord is hard and kicks back. Doesn't even sound close to starting. Any ideas? Dave

Remove the spark plug and see if the engine will spin free, it may have fluid on top of the piston. At same time, check for spark at the plug with it grounded.

did you drain the fuel bowl on the carburetor to see if it may have water in it?

I drained the fuel bowl and checked the fuel for water.

briggs engine, locate the coil next to the flywheel and remove the small black kill wire and try spark again. No spark with kill wire removed, bad coil. If it has spark, the kill circuit is grounding out the spark,
