Customer Question

I have a John Deere X304 that will not start. turn the key and all it does is click. Battery is brand new. In the past I would have to turn the key on about 3 or 4 times before it would engage starter and turn the engine over.

an you turn the engine by hand? Is the click coming from the starter solenid?

With voltmeter are you getting 12 volts to the starter solenoids switch terminal. If it is the solenoid clicking, and it has 12 volts from the keyswitch for start, replace the solenoid.
