01 is good number for the Briggs engine, but engine was used in many models. What size deck do you have? 20, 21, 22 inch? All four wheels same diameter? Pushmower, not power drive? What parts are you looking for?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
22 inch, all four wheel same, pushmower even thow the handle looks like a power. mainly the model number for entire mower
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
just took a pick if that helps
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
do you need the pic?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Motor is from 1991. Murray did not use the engine in 1991, so the engine is the transplant.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the eng is a separate concern
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
just the deck
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the eng assemble and handle is oem
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Did you check the link I sent?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Server not found
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
what about the handle assemble?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

OK, last link works!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the handle is wrong
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it was way before 2000's
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
but after 1990's
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

OK, here's 9000 more to pick from. I will opt out. Sorry.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
do you want to see what it looks like?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it is very unique due to the handle assemble and that was still oem
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Hi my name is*****'m going to try to help you with your mower . So your your looking to replace the handles right ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I just need the model number. the handle assemble is the unique think about this model
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Can you upload a pid of the mower ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the only handles that I have seen bent like that when we searched for it was the self driven but that model never been a self driven one and that handle assemble is the oem. so is the eng. the deck looks exactly the same
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

I'm searching as well

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.
Murray model 22263x92bhttps://www.purplewave.com/auction/080403/item/8265
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.
researching model 22263 , I found a diagram herehttp://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-part/922263/0739/1500600/wl000464/00003.htmlThose bars fit the 20 inch and 22 inch but it does look like they went to the straight style bars
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
yea I found that murray with subcumsy eng as well
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

The body looks identical

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
pretty much the same just the bail cable was on the left side with I think were the old speed control was but it been to long since that broke. and the pull cord cord was on the right but that probable does not mater my only concern if if the bail cable number match up. when we replaced the bail cable we had to do it with the numbers on the bail cable and not the model number.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
if only that mower repair shop had of not for gotten to write the model number somewhere but he did and know he is retired
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Ok , so is the bail cable at the top a T and the housing bolts to the handle bars?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
1 bolt to the handler bars with I believe an s or z end on the other side. I can get the numbers if you need them
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Ok , is it a new cable you need ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
why is it that I can find a eng paid to be built from craftman in the 1980. but I can find only 1 result with bing only for this 91 eng? built by brigg and paid by murray.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it does not have the part assemble I am looking for
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Which part are you looking for for your murray

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am trying to compare the bails on both motor to see if the cable would fit on both motors
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can take apart the briggs but the subcomcy I am out of luck
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Some tecumseh engins have the s part but bolt on where the briggs has the s part but clip in the bracket

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it is a fat s on the eng side of the bail cable. what does the subcomcy take?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
wait a minute
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Depending on the engine , earlier tecumseh engines have the s part but do not clip but bolt on

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
that model of the subcomcy pic is coming up as a brigg
the only question is does that eng have a primer or not hope not
http://www.partstree.com/parts/murray/mowers-walk-behind-lawn-mower/22266x92b-briggs-murray-22-walk-behind-mower-1996-walmart/mower-housing-assembly/
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
that the only source I have
when I google it nothing
when I bing it 1 result with all model numbers numbers
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Do you have a good number I can reach you by phone call ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
except it changed the 3 in to a 6. sorry just notice
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
looking at the image does the pic and the diagram look the same?
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

It does look the same

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
well the guy have no info on the eng and suggested I call briggs
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Your motor is a Briggs right ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Are you just looking G for a cable for it ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
a 1991 year made
looking for the lawn mower model number
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
from what I was told
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
can you confirm that the eng was built in 1991
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

The model type and code should be on the engine , do you have that

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
model type code###-##-####01 91031824
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I feel like I am just being push on call this number no this number no this number
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Your engine is a 1991 engine , the first 2 digits in the code are the year

https://www.briggsandstratton.com/na/en_us/support/faqs/browse/engine-manufacture-date.html

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

So yes the engine was built in 1991

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
what is the diff between the 92502 and the 92500
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I found the book on the 500
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

I'm not sure they seem to be near identical. Long as you know the ends the cable needs we can find a cable to fit it , most murray had a T end at the handlebars

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
never mind it falls in that category. well I have the books for the engine but I still need the model lawn mower
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I wish I wrote that model number some were
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

The model number I gave you earlier looks closest , I don't know how much closer we will get without some sort of Id number on the deck

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
this is what the bottom part would look like if it still had the speed control http://www.purplewaveauction.com/i/a/2011/20111130midwest/A1556.JPG
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Ok , well if you want to find a good replacment cable I still need the info on the ends etc

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I might need to replace the cable in the future but it is still working just a little rusted. I am mainly looking for the model number
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

Yeah I think I have done all I can , the model number I posted earlier is closest I have gotten

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
but what I do need is a new eng my bore is full of pits. will this one work same model what concerns me is it is a diff type http://www.ebay.com/itm/282011105100?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

All you need to replace the engine is the shaft length and thickness of the crankshaft

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

A new engine will run well into 150.00 and up at that price it may be more cost effective to replace the mower being it's a standard push mower . If it was a self propelled bagger etc I could see it being worth it but replacment engines are not cheap .

Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.

These are the cheapest and lowest hp engines

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
well the problem I like to keep thing as original as possible. that includes the vacuum easy start carburetor. The one on the site that looks the same was electronic
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am giving up for right know but I will come back to it when I have time
Expert:  Briggs-Fan replied 1 year ago.
Well I wish you the best of luck finding a original unused engine, I will gladly opt out being I feel I have done as much as I could. Best of luck
