will start with a shot of starting fluid -won't stay running I removed and cleaned air filter-carb- gas tank and blew out every thing with air hose briggs --mod#12f802-0877-01 and my murrey 8hpr riding mower 1988 starts with starting fluid and only runs full blast with choke on I did the same remove and cleaning as other

Ok with engine 12f802-0877-01 there are ports in the bolt that holds the bowl on, one in the top where it threads in an 2 on the sides. . Did you clear those ?

Ok did you use a carburetor cleaner like gumout? And how old is the gas your using

o I used gas to clean and piece of wire and air compressor the gas is new.

I would suggest gumout , was the float and needle dropping as it should ?

Ok , spray out the main jet going up through the center of the carburetor, there will be holes in the front of the carburetor, spray down into the hole where it threads in on the bowl bolt makING sure it shoots out the side ports
