Customer Question

I have a 26 HP Kohler twin on a Craftsman riding mower. I accidentally tried to engage the PTO when the engine was idling. This caused the engine to stall. Now when trying to start the engine the starter barely cranks. It acts like the battery is near dead. Could I have cooked the starter?

Do you have a voltmeter to check the battery and voltages? I doubt the starter would be damaged, but battery or connections can be causing low voltage. How old is the battery?
